Postdoctoral Research Position

The Greene Lab is now seeking a postdoctoral researcher.

The Greene Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at the University of California, San Diego, directed by Dr. Deanna Greene, invites applicants for a postdoctoral research position. The postdoc will work on an NIMH-funded, collaborative project between UCSD (Dr. Greene) and the University of Minnesota (Drs. Christine Conelea and Sonya Wang), investigating the mechanisms underlying behavioral treatment response in children with Tourette syndrome. The successful candidate will take the lead on this study, which will measure brain (fMRI, EEG), behavioral, and psychosocial functions in children with tics receiving Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) therapy. The goal of this study is to identify predictors of response, the therapeutic processes that activate change, and correlates of response. The postdoc will join the Greene Lab at UCSD, where we study typical and atypical brain network development using multiple MRI techniques, including functional connectivity and volumetric MRI. We use a combination of classic cross-subject group-level approaches and emerging within-subject individual-level approaches (Precision Functional Mapping) in concurrence with network analysis and multivariate machine learning techniques. In addition, the candidate will have access to the vast resources at UCSD, including state-of-the-art equipment and computing infrastructure, as well as the highly collaborative neuroimaging community that includes Cognitive Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, and ABCD study investigators. Dr. Greene always has an “open door” policy, encourages collaborative and open science, and strives to promote the career of trainees.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree in psychology, clinical psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include (1) experience with MRI and/or EEG data acquisition and analysis, (2) experience working with children, (3) experience working with clinical populations, (4) programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab), and (5) experience using advanced statistics and analytic techniques (e.g., multivariate machine learning, network analysis).

Interested applicants should send their CV, a brief cover letter describing research experience and interests, and contact information for 2-3 references to deannagreene@ucsd.edu. Questions about the position and lab philosophy are always welcome.

Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
